Network Systems Administrator
Job description
Reports to: Director of Technology
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of computer systems, server systems, and network infrastructure specifications.
- Hands on experience with administration of server and network systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of server and network systems.
- Expertise with information system backup and failover applications.
- Positive attitude.
- Good communication skills; able to communicate in a professional and friendly manner with co-workers.
- Strong knowledge of systems management, virtualization, network management, and application deployment.
- Experience deploying and supporting state and standardized testing resources.
- Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, Windows Servers, Windows Clients, and related resources.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace with an emphasis on cloud computing and security.
- Work in and always model a positive team atmosphere.
- Obtain and maintain current industry specific certifications and stay current on new products and solutions.
- 3-5 years network/server experience.
Responsibilities:
Network/Systems Administrator participates in the installation, maintenance and administration of network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
Design
- Research new technology solutions in conjunction with organizational priorities.
- Define and update infrastructure plans to support organizational priorities for network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Collaborate with and oversee vendor and consultant projects.
Configure
- Allocation of network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Implementation of network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
Maintain and Update
- Establish pilot systems to evaluate updates to network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Identify, install, maintain updates to the network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing laws and regulations.
- Assist with troubleshooting and escalation of helpdesk tickets.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
Monitor
- Evaluate the function of network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Define replacement schedules of network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Review systems regularly to determine security vulnerabilities and mitigate any potential security threats.
Security
- Establish specifications for access to and restrictions from network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources.
- Safeguard system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security vulnerabilities.
- Manage and maintain content filtering.
Data Privacy
- Establish and support organizational standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Experience or knowledge with COPPA and FERPA including other local, state, and federal data privacy requirements.
- Experience with open records requests.
Disaster Recovery
- Design and recommend solutions for scheduled backup.
- Design and recommend solutions for disaster recovery.
- Design and recommend solutions for archiving data.
Budget
- Plan and establish a budget for network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resources to meet both immediate and long-term goals.
- Review and audit annual budget expenditures such as maintenance agreements.
- Review and recommend decisions for network, server, end user devices, software, hardware, and other infrastructure resource acquisitions.
Required Skills, Education, and/or Certifications:
- Experience Managing and Maintaining:
- Windows Server Operating Systems
- Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
- Experience with Single Sign On/Active Directory Federation Services
- Server Virtualization Experience
- Server, firewall, network switchgear installation and configuration
- Endpoint device management with System Center Configuration Manager/InTune
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Skills, Education, and/or Certifications:
- Two or more verified technical certifications
- Knowledge or experience of VOIP systems
- Knowledge of Project Lead The Way
Performance Evaluation: Performance of the Network/Systems Administrator will be evaluated by the Director of Technology annually according to school board administrative evaluation policy and procedures.
Term of Employment: A twelve-month contract, including twenty days of vacation, will be issued according to provisions of state statute. Salary and fringe benefits to be set annually. Salary not to be under $75,000 annually.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
