Puppy Care Staff needed!
Warrior Canine Connection has an immediate opening for Puppy Care Staff at our Healing Quarters in
Boyds, Maryland. If you are a passionate, responsible, dog lover with a strong work ethic, this just might

Warrior Canine Connection is a nonprofit organization focused on providing highly capable service dogs
to disabled Veterans. Our Healing Quarters is at the center of everything we do. WCC has approximately
9-12 litters of Golden Retrievers and Labradors each year that are in need of your loving care.
WCC Puppy Care Staff play an important role in the organization by helping maintain the health and
wellbeing of dogs and puppies at our Healing Quarters. All dog care team members are expected to work
collaboratively and perform all duties in a responsible, timely, and professional manner.
What the job involves:
- Feeding moms / puppies according to written procedures
- Weighing newborn pups, closely monitoring puppy behavior/health, and reporting any concerns
- Cleaning whelping boxes and puppy areas
- Cleaning up after mom and pups as needed
- Washing dishes and doing laundry
- Providing bathroom breaks, leash walking and enrichment for moms.
- Comfortable using a computer and excel/ Record puppy/dog care related information
- Maintain and monitor supplies and equipment for moms/ pups and inform designated supply
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for the dogs and humans at WCC HQ.
- Employee must be on time for all shifts and arrive ready to work
- Communicating with manager in a timely manner
- Current available shifts are:
o Weekend evenings (same evening shifts as above)
o Holidays (same evening shifts as above)
- Must work at least one Friday or Saturday night per month.
- Must be available during most holidays.
- Ability to comfortably interact with puppies/dogs (and one or more onsite cats).
- Detail oriented and demonstrably strong work ethic – this can be demanding work.
- Friendly, calm, mature, patient, and professional demeanor with good communication skills.
- The ability to work independently with limited supervision – you must learn quickly.
- Ability to learn and manage a variety of tasks and processes.
- Capable of performing duties that require regular bending, lifting, stooping, stretching, and

- Previous experience in a kennel environment.
- Previous experience working with young puppies
