- Candidate will be responsible for performing quantitative economic analysis to evaluate the behavior and impact of market movements. The Junior Trader will be expected to be very conversant and knowledgeable of market conditions and industry changes. Additionally, the candidate is expected to maintain a high level of communication and education with Municipal Trading Desk and be able to generate timely and accurate market reports.
- The position will interact with Municipal Trading, Marketing, Operations, Finance Reporting and various internal groups in RBC. The primary responsibility will be to: assist senior Municipal traders in executing and hedging client deals, serving as a backup in their absence, handling pricing as well as other ad-hoc requests from marketers and doing quantitative market research. The position’s scope will also cover reconciliation of BMA trading portfolio’s daily P&L and risk exposures, generate daily/monthly reports for the MPG group and, book trades in the firm’s official books and records.
- The position will grow to include strategic involvement and driving the direction of systems that support the business
- Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis
The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $100,000 - $110,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
