NuProbe USA is hiring a Technician I/II for its Houston (TX) location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the NuProbe family in the Business Development/Services Department.
The Technician I/II will execute most of the Research & Development protocol activity which is vital to the success of the company. This position handles sensitive data and comes with a high degree of trust.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The company is the US-based R&D subsidiary of NuProbe Global, a company devoted to the development of novel non-invasive DNA and RNA diagnostic assays. NuProbe has products based on PCR, qPCR, and Sanger technologies. We are developing new technologies based on PCR and NGS methods which need a lot of new trials. This role will be full of opportunities and challenges.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- NGS Sequencing: sample ligation, library preparation, beads purification, NGS sequencer loading, etc.
- PCR: primer pooling, super-mix preparation
- qPCR
- DNA and/or RNA extraction and purification
- Sanger Sequencing
- Data Communication
Job Qualifications and Education:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
-BA/BS, MA/MS in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- 1 – 3 years of relevant wet-lab experience
- Familiarity (with sufficient hands-on experience) with at least 1 of the following techniques: NGS sequencing, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, Sanger
- Experience with NGS sequencing is VERY preferred: library preparation, NGS sequencer loading, Beads purification, etc.
- Experience with DNA and/or RNA extraction and purification is preferred

Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting at a desk, standing, bending and extensive use of computer and other work-related electronic devices. Lab positions require elongated standing and sitting where the worker must tend to time sensitive procedures. Must be able to push, pull, hold files and confer in office spaces. During time of pandemic, this and other roles require the employee to wear a mask over the nose and mouth while on the work premises. Must be able to carry or pick-up items up to 25 pounds at any time. Employees must keep safety rules and good work practices a priority. Any accommodations must be requested through Human Resources.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
