Position Summary

The Modeling and Fault Management Engineer will provide engineering support for NASA human spaceflight programs/projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Use SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques to model complex cyber-physical systems
  • Perform risk assessments
  • Perform fault/failure analysis
  • Perform analysis of system redundancy and fault tolerance
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS degree from an accredited school in the field of Engineering or in a related area and a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area. Advanced degrees may be counted as experience.
  • Experience with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques
  • Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Risk assessments
    • Fault/failure analysis
    • Redundancy and fault tolerance
    • System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies
  • Strong dynamics background
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

REQUISITION PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in Avionics and Software Architecture
  • NASA software and systems development standards
  • Proficiency with C/C++ coding
  • Proficiency with Linux
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
