Position Summary
The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapist to provide direct clinical services to ARC Members, including individual therapy, group facilitation, and community mental health referrals, as needed. This position will work closely with the Clinical and Wellness team to assess the needs of the membership and collaborate with life coaches to provide a coordinated and supportive approach to members. The ideal candidate for this position has counseling experience working with formerly incarcerated individuals and demonstrated experience working with a multidisciplinary team in a criminal justice setting.

Essential Job Functions
Provide professional mental health services to ARC members, including: individual, conjoint, family, and group psychotherapy, using empirically supported interventions for mental health treatment and/or prevention.
- Collaborate with life coaches and to provide case management services to members and troubleshoot any crisis that may arise.
- Prepare intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries and maintain ongoing confidential records. Document members’ treatment and progress for all individual and group sessions in our electronic records system and our secure client database.
- Provide clinical services, as indicated by ARC grants and contracts, to youth in juvenile hall
- Attend all case conferences, member support meetings, and clinical staff meetings, working collaboratively with the life coaches to provide support to members.
- Facilitate therapeutic, social-emotional, recovery, and processing groups to ensure all groups are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and meet the members’ needs/expectations.
- Work in collaboration with the Program Director and Associate Clinical Director to plan and facilitate monthly case conferences with direct service staff, professional development, and clinical training.
- Support the Associate Clinical Director to maintain and build external mental health referral sources.
- Support the Clinical & Wellness Department in ensuring all office meetings, groups, and approaches are trauma-informed and implements best practices in dealing with staff and/or member conflict.
- Other clinical duties as directed by Associate Clinical Director and Program Director.
Qualifications
- ASW or LCSW strongly required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A demonstrated passion for helping a diverse, underserved population who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to incarceration.
- Substantial clinical experience working with individuals who have experienced incarceration, and/or experience working within the criminal justice system, CDCR, and/or community partners focused on reentry
- Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed behavioral mental health care.
- Knowledge and experience working with individuals experiencing addiction and/or mental illness.
- Ability to manage difficult or challenging situations; respond promptly to participants’ needs; solicit participants’ feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Approaches others in a tactful manner; treats others with respect and consideration, regardless of status or position.
- Responds well under pressure; follows through on commitments.
- Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; accepts constructive criticism; ability to interact and work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse set of individuals and personalities and in various situations; contributes to a positive team spirit.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
Salary/Benefits
- Pay rate is $60,000 - $70,000k annually doe.
