Responsibilities:

The Behavior Health Technician provides the focus on providing care as established in the mental health care plan and assisting with ADL's.

• Provide care and behavioral services to assigned residents, including (but not limited to) one-to-one interventions and implementing established clinical care plans.
• Work collaboratively and cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team to create and maintain a respectful and therapeutic environment.
• Assist residents and families with adjustment to changes, including room changes. Assist families with engraving or marking residents personal items.
• Participate in resident care conferences and reviews as needed.
• Assist in crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist residents to maximize functional living skills.
• Assist with resident therapeutic groups and recreational activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use.
• Must meet any state and/or Federal requirements if applicable.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must maintain regular attendance.
• Must meet all local health regulations, and pass a post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry
