Job description

We are seeking a Medical Records Assistant to join our team at Crystal Cove Care Center. The Medical Records Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facility's medical records system and ensuring that all patient records are up-to-date and accurate.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and update patient medical records in a timely and accurate manner

- Retrieve and file medical records according to established procedures

- Perform chart audits to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation

- Assist with release of information requests as necessary

- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information

- Respond to inquiries from healthcare providers and other authorized parties

- Maintain filing and storage systems for medical records

- Assist with other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of one year of experience in medical records or a related field

- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
