Job description
The Department of Anesthesiology, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks a full time Medical Education Coordinator to provide administrative support to the department's education team as well as to departmental faculty. The incumbent is responsible for providing a high level of efficient, professional, and accurate administrative services within the departmental education team as well as general support to departmental faculty and projects (i.e. Global Health).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with residency and fellowship recruitment, preparing materials, scheduling meetings, telephone reception and triage, data entry (Excel) and assisting with creating PowerPoint presentations, library & Pub Med searches, and downloading and sending media documents. This position also assists other staff in the department during absences, increased volume of work, etc.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of administrative support experience. A Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.

- Maintain office files related to medical education programs such as records, reports, and correspondence in an organized, detailed, and accurate fashion.
- Operate general office machines and use basic computer applications, such as word processing, copy machines, and calculators.
- Promptly answer telephone calls and emails from students, screen calls, and respond to routine requests or refer requests to the appropriate professional personnel.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, educational events, and travel. Monitor calendars, bringing pertinent items and dates to the attention of medical professional personnel.
- Track expenditures with receipts or other relevant documentation and prepare reimbursement requests.
- Process, prepare, and edit reports and documents.
- Provide assistance with the coordination of the interview and selection process, credentialing process, and graduation verification.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
