We are a Gastroenterology Surgical Center with Internal Medicine practice looking for a motivated Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist.
We are a well established practice that has been serving the community for nearly 30 years. COVID Policies and Responsibilities
All team members will be required to get COVID-19 tested before actively seeing patients. In addition, all patients and team members will be required to be screened prior to entry within our facilities. During regular patient hours, masks will be required for all patients and team members. Cleaning and disinfection procedures will be strictly adhered in between all patients. ALL DESIGNATED PPE WILL BE PROVIDED TO OUR TEAM MEMBERS.
Responsibilities may include:
- Screening scheduled arrivals for temperature and COVID exposure.
- Coordinating patient movement throughout facility.
- Practice infection control procedures throughout facility, including sanitizing surfaces post-patient movement.
- Communicating through video intercom system to provide entrance and exit of facility.
- Phlebotomy
- COVID-19 testing via obtaining Nasopharyngeal swab and submitting to lab.
- Preoperative testing, including electrocardiogram and vitals
- Schedule confirmations, including demographic/facesheet completion
Minimum requirements:
- 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant
- 1 year experience with front desk reception duties
- Up to date/ current certification as a Medical Assistant
- Extremely friendly demeanor with excellent customer service skills
- Bilingual English/ Spanish
Must be comfortable with:
- Heavy computer use (EMR)
- Venipuncture
- EKG & Vital Signs
- Assisting patient movement
- Cleaning medical instruments
- Traveling to our other location in Far Rockaway Occasionally ( approx. 2x/ month )
- Communication with Patients & Family in both English & Spanish
- Physical activity: Assist patient movement, standing for long periods of time, unpacking and moving supplies
