We are searching for a Medical Assistant for our DOWNTOWN/HEIGHTS clinic offices – someone who works well in a fast-paced surgical group settings. You will be working closely with top general surgeons, providing exceptional care to all our patients. We are looking for someone who is able to wear many hats and takes joy in helping others. While this position involves mostly clinical duties (80%), it is also administrative (20%). You will only travel once per week on Wednesday from St. Joseph office to Greater Heights less than a 6 mile distance. Travel stipend added for days of commute.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians
  • Respond to customer questions with prompt information relating to appointment status, wait time or unanticipated problems
  • Provides thorough, accurate, and complete documentation of all information relevant to the patient's procedure/visit.
  • Record vital signs per clinic scope
  • Preparing pre-operative paperwork
  • Preparing prescriptions
  • Reviewing post-operative and pre-operative instructions with patients.
  • Working closely with Surgery Schedulers to ensure patients' surgical day goes smoothly.
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Cross-train and assist with clerical duties
  • Assure exam rooms are stocked with all patient care supplies

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred but may be substituted by experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of clinic experience

CERTIFICATION: Certified M.A. preferred, but not required

Bilingual in Spanish preferred

COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
