Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the surgical clinic. They support physicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be willing to train in Rockford, IL for 1 week
• Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant; national certification preferred
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Friendly, polite, and professional
• Proficient with an EMR system (Electronic Medical Records) ideally Nextech
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong clinical skills to assist with surgical procedures
• Suture removal
• Sterilization
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software (Nextech preferred)
• Stable work history

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Medical assistant will act as both an administrator and healthcare professional, performing clinical duties and managing administrative tasks in medical office, procedure rooms, and surgery facility
• Clinical duties will include but not limited to patient intake, triaging patients, EMR chart documentation, medication knowledge, surgical instrument processing and assisting in surgical procedures
• Administrative tasks may include: greeting patients and answering telephones, receiving and faxing orders, scanning, email communication, and vendor knowledge
• Apply the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide comprehensive treatment in plastic, reconstructive, cosmetics and hand surgery patients
• Work closely with the physician, patient care coordinators, and surgical team to ensure delivery of services and quality patient care
• The Medical Assistant adheres to the organization’s relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards
• Train new employees as needed
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
