Edina Retina is a single physician busy ophthalmology practice. We see a large volume of patients with eye problems such as macular degeneration and diabetes. I am looking to hire a new ophthalmic technician to assist with patient care and enhance the patient experience.

I am interested in hiring a pre professional applicant with particular interest in healthcare. Unlike many scribe jobs, the position offers direct hands on patient care and requires dedication, enthusiasm, and a commitment to learning and excelling every day.

The direct patient care will undoubtedly help the applicant confirm their interest in a medically related field. I fully expect to write a strong reference letter supporting the application.

Job Description:

The position involves being the first person after check in to interact with the patient. It involves taking a patient history, checking the patient's vision and performing imaging tests. The applicant will receive detailed training of all aspects of the position and no prior experience is necessary - just enthusiasm and aptitude. Specifically the job involves but is not limited to the following:

- taking a patient history accurately.

- performing a limited eye examination.

- perform some imaging tests.

- prepare and clean exam rooms for examinations and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree and an interest in a health care related professional programme.

Specific skills such as excellent verbal communication ability, multi-tasking, and an even keeled personality are very helpful!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are expected to wear a mask. The applicant will assist in a detailed cleaning of the examination areas between patients. Social distancing as much as possible is being employed.
