Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Medical Assistant
Job Purpose: The Medical Assistant, under the supervision of the Office Administrator, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management.
This position will require travel between our Southlake and Denton office locations.
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required.
Pay is negotiable based on experience, and will include compensation for travel.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Escorts patients to and from the exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
- Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication change
- Obtains all necessary patient records as required by Physicians and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepares, and stocks exam rooms.
- Maintains all exam and treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education/Training/Experience:
- Minimum High school diploma or GED.
- Certificate of Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience with EMR eClinicalWorks
- Spanish speaking preferred
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public; is knowledgeable of medical practice and care, common safety hazards and precautions; possesses skills in developing and maintaining clinical quality assurance, and possesses strong organizational skills including the ability to maintain records, record test results, and schedule follow up appointments. Strong reasoning skills, judgment and the ability to react calmly in emergency situations are also necessary.
