Crestron Electronics has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in our fast growing organization. We are seeking a polished, proactive, and professional Mechanical Engineer. In this position you will play a significant role to assure product quality and specification compliance by proactively discovering and resolving product design/compliance issues during design phase prior to release of products to production.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and perform mechanical verification and validation testing:Review Product Specifications, DFMEA, applicable Industry specifications and Regulatory requirements.

Prepare product validation testing plans to test various failure modes and to assure compliance to Product, Industry, and Regulatory requirements.
Develop appropriate test fixtures, acquire/utilize test equipment and perform validation testing.
Perform component as well as product level acoustic testing, if applicable.
Generate detailed test reports based on component and system level testing.
Generate product level Design Verification and Validation Test Reports.

• Recommend design solutions to mechanical engineers for potential failure modes in early development stages.
• Build library of test procedures that can be used across various products.
• Design/build test fixtures, test equipment which will adequately test failure modes.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance team to share testing data and testing resources.
• Present test reports to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience.
• 3D CAD experience (Creo preferred).
• Proficiency in predicting failure modes.
• Ability to develop validation tests.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical aspects of electronics devices, shades and mechanism driven test equipment.
• Ability to effectively use statistical and data analysis software to devise Design of Experiments and perform predictive analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Mechanical Compliance in the areas of safety and EMC:UL/CSA standards

• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift/transport equipment, occasionally ascend/descend ladder and able to use hand/power tools.
