Job Title: Equipment Innovation Engineer
Pay Rate: $40.44 – 54.41/hr (W2 contract)
Location: Atlanta, GA 30313 – Onsite 5 days/wk
Description:
The Equipment Innovation Engineer role will serve as a key member of the Advanced Technology Solutions team, reporting to the Director of Advanced Technology Solutions. In this role, you will lead the technical development of transformational product concepts in the dispensed beverage space. This position will bring curiosity, empathy, creativity and strategic skills to bear in service of solving complex business challenges. This position will work with others within company as well as with external resources such as consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers. The scope of a typical project will include idea generation, concept development, proof of concept, and market test. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to innovate complex systems by leading development work and building working relationships across functional areas and external suppliers.
What You’ll Do for Us
- You will create the capabilities that power our next generations of package-less beverage solutions, including dispensed beverages and revolutionary product offerings.
- Participate in business strategy discussions about the business’ future, and then you will develop the technical strategy to ensure the capabilities we need are available.
- Collaborate closely with software, digital, and teams to prototype and develop integrated innovations.
- Share both successes and failures/lessons learned as we develop business solutions
- Work across boundaries to support innovation across the organization in dispensed product.
- Create the technologies that power the company of tomorrow.
- Effectively communicate Program deliverables, Risks, Schedules, and Budgets to Business Leadership of critical decisions.
- Identify and communicate work status to appropriate stakeholders to keep them informed and involved.
- Ensure continuous personal development of industry knowledge and trends through supplier evaluation and qualification visits, on-the-job training, development partner coordination, and relevant training opportunities.
- Support field trial units in the Atlanta market. Attend events to support and train staff.
- Up to 25% travel, but typically no more than 10%.
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent credentials from a non-US institution).
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in these disciplines preferred
Related Work Experience: 3 - 10 years in a related innovation or design field, with strong knowledge of integrated systems development.
Technical Skills:
- Great communication skills.
- Demonstrated integrator of disparate technologies (EE, Fluid Handling, Software) into cohesive innovations.
- Demonstrated success working in teams to deliver innovations.
- Knowledge and use of design tools and methodologies (DFMEA, DVP&R, Agile).
- Ability to show disparate stakeholders, including non-technical stakeholders, the value of the technologies developed.
- Design, fabricate and evaluate/assess (e.g., through laboratory testing) a working package, equipment or product prototype/sample against technical requirements, fit to concept or performance specifications (e.g., functionality and operational feasibility).
- Identify, select and/or manage relationships with vendors or suppliers to ensure proper capabilities, conformance with Company standards and appropriate products and services (e.g., ingredients, materials, testing services).
- Work with supplier or internal partner(s) in order to refine a concept to build preliminary test prototypes, perform design-for-manufacture exercises or produce cost estimates.
- Basic problem-solving: The ability to identify technical performance gaps, use data mining and analytical tools to identify root causes, and use engineering skills and tools to develop and implement solutions to technical problems
- Knowledge of regulatory in any the areas of NSF, UL, ETL, or FCC is a plus.
