Job Summary

Mechanic will perform minor repairs to all rolling equipment used at Jay Gee. Will work on projects assigned to them, and follow all safety and workplace rules

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The duties listed below are intended to provide a general description of the tasks to be performed. This is not an all inclusive list or a limitation of the tasks that may be assigned.

• Employee is responsible for their own work.
• Perform minor repairs to all rolling equipment used by Jay Gee.
• Service equipment according to scheduled PMs.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of all PMs.
• Operate and utilize tools and procedures following all safety protocols.
• Report and correct any problems found subsequent to an initial evaluation or inspection.
• Ensure that all work results in equipment that is safe to operate by other employees.
• Follow lead of Mechanic B to understand visual and diagnostic inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of mechanics and proper use of hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• One years or more experience as a mechanic.
• Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
• Experience with lifting equipment.
• Proven ability to operate and use equipment and tools utilized for vehicle repair.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
• Frequently must push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in our shop buildings or outside on plant property.
