We are searching for an experienced Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in the meat cutting industry and is capable of working quickly, efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be personable, friendly and experienced in the meat cutting industry. Experience

• 2+ year meat cutting experience required
• Pay based on experience and a cutting test for skill

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Cuts, trays, and packages all of the required meat products required for the day.
• Cut meats to customer's requests using proper cutting equipment.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Ensure country of origin labels and signage is correct for all meat products.
• Maintains the organization, stacking, and rotating of all meat products in the cooler and freezer.
• Uses knowledge of scales, weight measures, and tares to accurately weigh and label meat products; includes packaging and wrapping product and following the proper dating procedures.
• Maintains proper safety practices and care while using all the cutting accessories available in the meat department; complies with the use of mesh gloves while using a knife.

Work Environment:

• Must have the physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb, balance, stoop to grasp objects, kneel, crouch, crawl, frequently push/pull up to 100 lbs., frequently lift and/or move loads up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 75 lbs.
• Ability to enter the coolers and freezers thereby being subjected to and withstanding frequent temperature changes for extended periods of time.
• Able to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the store/business needs and as required to ensure adequate store staffing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $23.10 per hour
