POSITION SUMMARY: Provide nutritionally balanced meals, social activities, and support to Senior
citizens at a congregate dining site and for home delivered meal programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Set up meal site for daily activities.
Delivery of meals as needed.
Receive, inspect and count meal items upon delivery from meal caterer.
Prepare home delivery meal equipment, pack out meals per meal route for delivery.
Maintain Home Delivery Meal route packets.
Handle all cancellations and scheduling for congregate meal site and Home Delivery Meal
volunteers.
Set up meal site activities (recreation, nutrition, education, guest speaker.)
Clean up and pack up in preparation for the next day.
Coordinates and provides training to meal site volunteers.
Assist with intake forms and assessments.
Uses and follows the policies/procedures of Mid Florida Community Services, Inc., including
but not limited to Personnel Policies, Occupational Health and Safety policies, payroll policies/practices, etc.

Performs any additional duties as directed or assigned by supervisor, management staff, program director or Mid Florida Community Services, Inc. management staff. Requirements
JOB STANDARDS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience: One year experience in social or senior service public service or related field. Licenses & Certifications: Must have a valid Florida driver license and be insurable by company’s current insurance carrier. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Subject to federal, state, and local legal requirements/background checks/clearance for working with vulnerable populations.
CRITICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, & EXPERTISE:
Physical Requirements: Use of arms, hands, and fingers are constant. Good eyesight (with corrective device) and good hearing (with corrective device) are essential. Sitting, talking, walking, handling, use of depth perception and driving are frequent. Light (up to 20 lbs.) lifting, stretching/reaching, grasping, and kneeling are occasional.
Equipment: Oven, refrigerator, microwave, adding machine, telephone, copy machine, facsimile, and a vehicle.
Skills & Expertise: Ability to work with limited direction. Skill in completing work with a high degree of accuracy. Skill in paying attention to details. Ability to evaluate situations and make prompt decisions. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people. Knowledge of department and policies and procedures.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB FACTORS:
Job Location: Various facilities within Hernando, Lake, Sumter, and Polk county.
Work Environment: Constantly works in a meal site environment and works closely with others on a regular basis.
