Truck Driver (Heavy)

About the Position
The Truck Driver (Heavy) Operator drivers must have the ability to operate all equipment that is processed through the packing and shipping facility to include but not limited to all types of rolling stock, track vehicles and material handling equipment; tactical and non-tactical. This includes knowledge in loading, unloading and tie down operations for transportation requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess a commercial Driver’s license (Class A/B
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations
• Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Communicating and coordination with dispatchers.
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
• Arranging, balancing, and securing cargo.
• Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Performing vehicle preventative maintenance checks and inspection before operations.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.
• Report defect, accidents, and violations
• Perform daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
• Load and unload box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Reporting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection report
• Verify load accuracy.
• Report cargo deliveries.
• Offload, load, freight movement.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• All required certifications are current.
• Minimum of 3 years or related experience.

Shift: 3rd Shift

Physical Demands:
Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50. Must be able to maneuver the heavy truck and load from one location to another in a safe and timely manner. Must be able to use the truck controls on a safe and repetitive basis.
