Job description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Various positions with cross training exist in our distribution center Material Handler
1st shift 8:00-4:30 EST (OT Schedule (when applicable) 6:00-4:30 EST)
Other duties
- Container unloading
- Forklift/reach truck: Put away, replenishment
- Order picking
- Order manifest/shipping
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Desire to perform in a safe, collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Dependable (good team member)
- Positive communicator (active listening and collaboration with team members)
- Physical ability to move/lift cartons up to 50lbs
- Material handling, order picking experience a bonus, not required
- Fork lift/reach truck experience a bonus, not required (we certify team members as needed)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Starting Hourly Wage (based on skills/experience): $16.50-$20.00
- Overtime: Eligible for OT pay (Time and ½ once over 40 hours)
- Benefits: We offer medical, dental, vision insurance as well as have a 401K company match program
Ownership: As Shepherd Hardware is privately owned, we as employees are also owners of the company. Those who stay with the company will be eligible for a 1x payout of up to 6 months wages, when a liquidity event occurs (sale of company or re-evaluation is likely multiple years out – would need to stay with company during the full term)
You should be proficient in:
- Forklift Licensed
- Meets Physical Requirements
- High School / GED
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Shop Math Skills
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Basic Computer Skills
