Master Scheduler

Direct, Perm, $110,000 - 125,000


The master scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products
through the complete production cycle by setting planning rules and modifiers to drive manufacturing ERP
software, by planning and monitoring project costs, by preparing schedules with inputs from several
sources, and by understanding the work and time involved in planning each activity.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

 Prepare all work center schedules for assigned product lines in coordination with overall master
schedule
 Develop the master schedule, using information gathered from multiple sources
 Participate in production meetings, while maintaining status for open supply orders
 Work alongside purchasing and production to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in
machine capacity or material availability
 Support efforts as needed to ensure on time delivery.
 Coordinating outsourcing efforts with procurement to outside vendors to address capacity
constraints
 Ensure weekly production schedules satisfactorily comply with the company’s production plan and
customer delivery dates
 Plan, schedule, coordinate and approve release of production orders to manufacturing based on
material and capacity availability
 Interface with Sales, Engineering, Logistics and Operations to reschedule production in the event
of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule
interruptions or customer requests
 Utilize ERP software and supporting worksheets to develop processes for production planning,
capacity planning, and operational management
 Analyze customer demand information, forecasts, orders, machine, labor, and material availability
and develop a flexible yet efficient master schedule
 Coordinate efforts for expedited equipment and materials to ensure customer deliveries are in
accordance with schedule
 Resolve problems relating to shortages, variances, or other impediments to smooth material flow
through the factory

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
 Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with
people across all levels of the organization
 Must be willing to have a floor presence.
 Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking,
and prioritizing skills
 Solid understanding of manufacturing product flow, data flow, manufacturing constraints and
objectives in the order life cycle.
 Strong understanding of MRP and planning concepts.
 Ability to work with various departments with competing interests to generate an effective
production schedule which balances the needs of sales, customer service and production
 Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
 Effective decision making and problem-solving skills
 Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.)
 Proficient with ERP supply chain software (i.e. IFS, Oracle, SAP)
 5 years progressive planning/scheduling experience preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 APICS certification

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, mathematics or related preferred.
 Experience in Production Scheduling, Supply Chain Management, or Production Planning
 Previous operations experience a plus

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, reach with
hands and arms, and regularly required to walk. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
 The ability to travel up to 10% if required
 Ability to lift, move, pull, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
