We are a small martial arts business in Studio City, CA. We are committed to providing a safe and fun learning environment for Kids, Juniors, Teens and Adults. Our supportive and friendly Dojo community sets the foundation for all students to thrive.

In addition to the physical practice, we emphasize discipline, character building, personal health and wellness. Students practice communication, mindfulness and respect for others within a non-competitive environment. Individuals are challenged to achieve excellence in their training and throughout their lives. Our curriculum supports and encourages individuality and personal development.

Our dojo community is seeking an experienced instructor who is eager to pass their knowledge on to others. We're looking for a professional who enjoys working with children (ages 5-17) and adults, and is passionate about helping individuals learn a new skill and make friends. We are seeking a patient and kind instructor with a strong background in teaching with a minimum of 6 years teaching experience. We're looking for an individual with a strong background in movement and/or martial arts training. Martial arts training not required.

Seeking an individual who is also computer savvy and can assist with some basic administration duties, customer relations, and office work.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a friendly atmosphere for students and families.
• Greet and get to know students and families.
• Teach martial arts skills to individuals or groups.
• Capable of safely handing groups of 6 students at one time.
• Maintain student focus and attention and adapt activities as needed.
• Ability to lead a large group in activities.
• Learn and lead class warm up with details.
• Work one-on-one with beginner students as needed.
• Able to demonstrate basic martial arts skills.
• Ability to move and teach movement.
• Ongoing training to learn our specific martial arts style to teach to students.
• Able to explain martial arts philosophy.

• Office duties, attendance, filing, client emails, and calendars.
• Basic maintenance, cleaning and stocking between and after classes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Livescan Fingerprint (costs covered by business)
• Teaching experience with children (ages 5+) - 6 years minimum. Willing to train a proactive individual who wants to learn.
• Experience teaching movement (dance or martial arts preferred).
• Some martial arts knowledge or background.
• Experience teaching adults is a plus, but not required.

HOURS:

• Flexible 4 - 6 hour shifts depending on availability and experience.
• Weekdays between 3pm - 7pm, 3pm - 9pm OR 4pm - 7pm, 4pm - 9pm
• Saturdays between 9am - 1:00pm OR Sundays 9am - 1:30pm
• Additional office hours available before or after group classes.
• Additional hours available with private lessons once instructor is trained.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
