Overview:
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a hard-working, motivated individual to serve as a Marketing Events Coordinator.

This position can be based in any of the following offices: Downtown Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, Del Mar, or San Diego. There is only one opening.

The Marketing Events Coordinator is a member of the Business Development and Marketing Department and reports to the Director of Firmwide Events.

The Marketing Events Coordinator is responsible for managing Sheppard Mullin-hosted events from development to execution. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, willingness and ability to work independently handling multiple tasks with multiple deadlines, attention to detail and be extremely collaborative.

  • This position has a remote/hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation to be in the office on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions of Job:
  • Coordinate firm-sponsored seminars, events and webinars
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including invitations, mailing lists, handout materials, site management, speakers, visual presentations and follow-up efforts
  • Coordinate delivery of all items needed for registration, including name tags and handout materials
  • Coordinate the production and set-up of visual presentations
  • Handle seminar and special event follow-up materials, such as final attendance reports and budget summaries
  • Update the Events section of the firm’s website
  • Travel to events in Southern California
  • Responsible for in-person staffing of events across Southern California
  • Other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, willingness and ability to work independently handling multiple tasks with multiple deadlines, attention to detail and a team-player. Must have reliable transportation for staffing on and off-site events.
Preferred Qualifications: 1 to 2 years of events coordination experience. Legal industry experience.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of events coordination experience in a professional services environment.
Major (if applicable): Marketing or Communications

Computer/Software Knowledge

Required: Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Preferred: Experience with CRM (InterAction) and email campaign system (Vuture or similar) a plus.

Work Environment

A fun, fast paced environment. Staffing of some events may require overtime.

Travel Requirements

Up to 50% travel. Responsible for in-person staffing of events across Southern California.

The salary range for this position is $26.00 to $33.00 per hour.
