Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging has 24/7 responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations for various imaging modalities as directed by the facility Director of Imaging. Provides oversight and leadership as needed to create exceptional patient experience and working environment for staff and providers. Position has oversight of the quality, service, cost and operational integrity of assigned imaging modalities. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided. Assures competency of all personnel. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while maintaining compliance with all ACR, MQSA/FDA and State of North Carolina within quality and regulatory guidelines. Observes strict confidentiality and follows all HIPAA laws in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Manages and supervises the imaging operations for assigned modalities on a daily basis.
  • Manages and supervises all team members of the department to create a positive work and results oriented environment.
  • Leads patient experience initiatives.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and performance improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.


What qualifications you will need:

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: This position requires a thorough knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging Services, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements as well as maintaining clinical competency for performing imaging services. The ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority is required. Very frequent interactive associations and managerial tasks are inherent in this position. The ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information verbally and in writing is essential. A professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members are essential. The ability to maintain confidentiality of information is essential.

Required Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiological program, Bachelor Degree in related field, or CRA

Preferred Education: Master Degree

Required License: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or other advanced modality; BLS

Required Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the imaging setting

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years management experience
