Summary/Responsibilities:

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting facility- associated infections. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and maintain infection prevention strategies. The Infection Preventionists conducts rounds, discusses and monitors infection prevention practices with staff members, collects infection data from departments, maintains records for each case of facility- associated infection, conducts outbreak investigation, trains staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices, investigates incidents of infections and reports such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and ensures availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field preferred. Pursue professional growth and development of required knowledge and skills

Experience: 1 year of clinical work experience related to infection prevention and control in health care settings including, but not limited to, hospitals or long-term care settings preferred Experience in geriatric care preferred
