SUMMARY
Manage the financial affairs of Landing Gear Services business unit with $100M+ annual sales volume under the direction of the Controller. While keenly overseeing the overall accounting process, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to maintain and improve the financial health of our company. AAR is looking for a Candidate with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage the team and support our internal controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with month-end accounting close process & reporting requirements
- Prepare and/ or review appropriate journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage intercompany transactions and settlements
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
- Assist quarterly and yearend internal and external audits
- Analyze capital asset proposals and work with Operations to track spend, progress and budget variances through duration of project and ensure project savings are identified and realized
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Supervise Accounting department in the conduct of their responsibilities, including assigning work and managing priorities
- Work collaboratively with Corporate shared services (Credit, accounts payable, treasury, etc.) to improve processes

QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Lawson General Ledger, and Oracle PBCS (Planning Budgeting Cloud System). SysPro ERP experience a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of inventory management controls.
