The Woodhaven Retirement Community is a full service Life Plan Community that also offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Services and Adult Day Services. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to fill a full-time position in our organization. This is an excellent position for someone looking to gain experience in the maintenance field or for any retiree seeking to keep their maintenace skills sharp.
JOB DESCRIPTION (responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following):
Under the direction of the Director of Technology and Physical Plant and the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintaining of all buildings, grounds, and fire safety (life safety), More specifically, as this is a hands-on position, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for:
Repairing or arranging for repairs for the building and equipment as needed.
Assisting plumber, carpenter, electrician etc. as needed.
Equipment and supplies: (Selection of most effective supplies, material and equipment, assuring materials and supplies are properly used. Keeping equipment in good working condition).
Moving, assembling and disassembling furniture and equipment as needed.
Keeping entrances and sidewalks neat, clean and free of snow and debris (landscape and lawn care maintenance as needed).
Helping Resident upon admission with heavy furniture and hanging all pictures, clocks, etc.
Keeping dumpster area neat and free of debris.
Replacing all light bulbs as needed.
Stripping, waxing and buffing all vinyl floors.
Heavy cleaning in the Dietary Department.
Working cooperatively and productively with coworkers;
Responding rapidly and appropriately to emergencies involving Resident and coworker safety; projecting a positive image of the organization in dealing with Residents/clients, coworkers and public

EXPERIENCE:
Must have knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in cleaning and maintaining an odor free environment for the Residents, adult day dare participants and employees.
Must have understanding of standard techniques to avoid spread of infection and contagious illness.
Experience with licensure compliance for assisted living is desired.
Pay: $17.00 hr. (includes .50 cent attendance bonus, eligibility every 2 weeks)
