We are looking to add maintenance technicians to Ankeny and Urbandale hotels due to hotel growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building and equipment maintenance work. This position will be for multiple hotels primarily in the Ankeny area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Repairs and maintains facility buildings and equipment.
• Repairs includes but not limited to building and room renovation, plumbing, painting, Sheetrock work, electrical, and carpentry, framing, carpeting.
• Responsible to maintain pool & spa.
• Responsible to keep outside as well as inside of the building nice and clean including snow removing and landscaping.
• Responsible to drive shuttle service from and to hotel to any given destination to surrounding area.
• Makes repairs on mechanical, electric and plumbing equipment including furnace, cooling equipment and exhaust fans.
• Performs preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Does ground work and custodial work as necessary. Responsible to keep inside as well outside of the hotel clean.
• Keeps all equipment/property in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Management.
• Monitors and performs periodic tests on Fire Alarm/Life Safety System.
• Assists in energy conservation by observing energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds; look for ways to conserve energy; recommends any ideas to the Management.
• Cleans, lubricates, protects and otherwise maintains all tools and equipment in the hotel.
• Maintenance Engineer is responsible to bring all necessary tools and equipment required to finish any and every job. In the event tools are borrowed from hotel (with prior approval of management), he or she ensures that all tools/equipment used are returned to the shop and/or secured in proper storage area.
• Maintenance Engineer is responsible to keep respected hotels in local, state, federal compliance.
• Maintenance Engineer must follow the direction given by immediate supervisor / GM / DOO / Management / Ownership all the time.
• Assists in handling emergencies in order to protect our guest and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. Must act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
• Keeps Management informed of any emergencies.
• Completes all work assigned in a safe and professional manner.
• Maintains communications with supervisors to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order. Follows up on any items that may be on back order.
• Keeps supervisor updated on assignments.
• Responsible for other job duties assigned by General Manager / DOO / Management / Ownership.
• Provides training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested.

Certificates and Licenses

• Candidate must possess a CPO license. Candidate is responsible to achieve and maintain and renew CPO certificate and responsible for the cost to achieve and renew as and when required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good record.

Other requirements

• Candidate must possess reliable transportation and a cell phone with text messages.
• Candidate is responsible to bring any and all necessary and required tools/equipment to finish the required job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
