Pro Resources Staffing has a DIRECT HIRE opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, located in Huntington, IN.

Salary is somewhere between $75,000- $85,000 (depending on experience)

1st Shift hours and willing to work OT, as needed, according to the production schedule.

Position Summary:
Lead; this responsibility is a leadership position. To be a leader is to always be leading by example. It means not sending people into situations that they cannot successfully complete because of skill level and preparations are poor. It includes asserting oneself when one see danger and risks, not in a negative way that destroys progress, but way that provides better safer alternatives to achieve the goal.

Responsibilities:

• Organize a work plan for the day or week for each shift and make sure tasks are being completed as scheduled.
• Prioritize work and resources to bring the greatest benefits to the company.
• Set Standards for safety, craftsmanship, skill level.
• Coordinate activities before hand with all other departments when possible to make sure the activities have little to no effect on the operation of the facility.
• Supervise: Knowing exactly what is going on in good detail with every job at all times. Regularly during the day, the supervisors needs to go and see the work for themselves and not believe the stories told by someone else.
• Keep management fully informed of the maintenance department performance and the issues they are confronting.
• The supervisor is responsible to get maintenance work completed on time on budget and safely. Will work closely with people planning jobs in order to know what future work is to be done. For planning purposes, a supervisor needs to know the workload in coming weeks to be able to schedule to the best of their ability.
• Mentor the maintenance teams to make sure work is done correctly and regularly talk to each of their people offering assistance to improve performance if needed, providing honest and useful feedback when quality and performance standards drop.
• The supervisor champions business process improvement and is always looking for simpler, smarter and more efficient ways to do the work undertaken by the maintenance dept.
• The supervisor is responsible for making sure urgent jobs or unplanned work is delegated to the proper people and making sure it is completed is a safe and effective way
• The maintenance supervisor needs to exhibit ethical behavior and judgement in all situations. It is best if a supervisor does not manage family members, friends and family of friends.
• Must of all the supervisor must make sure himself or herself and the entire crew is following all safe work practices no matter what job is being performed. Also, make sure all team members are properly trained to all company policies before letting them perform the work.

Qualifications:

• No education requirement other than previous experience as a maintenance supervisor within a manufacturing environment.
• Set standards for safety, craftsmanship, skill level.
• Coordinate activities before hand with all other departments, when possible, to make sure the activities have little to no effect on the operation of the facility.
• The supervisor is responsible to get maintenance work completed on time, on budget, and safely.
• Keep management fully informed of the maintenance department performance and the issues they are confronting.
• The supervisor must know and understand the technical, engineering, and quality requirements of the oeprating processes and the plant equipment used in the process.
