In this role the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for:

  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on all plant electrical systems, 480 V and 277 V three phase systems, 240 V and 208 V single and three phase system, 120 volt single phase systems as well as 24 and 12 volt systems.
  • Perform electrical installations, including running conduit, pulling wire, mounting and wiring of electrical components and switches.
  • Perform maintenance from work orders, preventative work orders (PM’s) as well as from written and verbal instructions.
  • Perform other duties as required Utilize basic mechanical knowledge to repair other mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as electrical equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot various sized hoist and crane
  • Operate Forklifts & Aerial lifts and proficient use of PPE (fall protection)

About you

  • Have excellent computer skills and a high level of proficiency in software to design ladder logic and machine controls. May also possess advanced programming skills in data base development and machine control.
  • Able to utilize software to troubleshoot HMI’s and AC Drives.
  • High School and Vocational Technical School with 5+ years of experience as a controls technician
  • Must have good hearing, correctable to accepted standards.
  • Must have good manual dexterity, as well as excellent hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be sufficiently mobile to maneuver between/around equipment in the manufacturing areas.
  • Must be able to climb/descend a flight of stairs.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50).
  • Must be able to wear PPE as required in manufacturing areas.
  • Must demonstrate the safe and proper installation techniques for power systems wiring. Must demonstrate full working knowledge of the NEC and power distribution systems.
  • An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes; motors, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
  • Able to install and setup both A/C drives
  • Basic welding skills preferred but not required
  • PLC preferred but not required
  • Familiar with pumps, cooling towers and closed loop cooling and heating systems.
  • Work with production and maintenance team to achieve quality products and maintain production on all equipment.
  • Must be motivated, hardworking, team player, and possess a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate flexibility by being on-call and working overtime as needed.
  • Experience with extrusion processes preferred but not required.
  • Success will require a high level of skill/expertise in the areas of inspection, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electronic and electrical plant equipment and systems.
  • Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling production equipment.
  • Cross-training in mechanical systems and other maintenance disciplines; continuously learning and developing maintenance skills.
