Summary:

Summary

Responsible for assisting Maintenance Engineer in trouble shooting, repairing, cleaning, maintaining, and performing all preventative/maintenance in retail division. Also ensures efficient operation by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all store and fuel dispensing equipment. Maintain facilities by performing all maintenance/preventative maintenance that may include light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and roofing services. Coordinates with vendors as needed or required.

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance as required at all PEX Group Locations
  • Respond to maintenance related calls from all PEX Group locations and serve as liaison between vendors and managers on all projects
  • Work directly with store managers on all needed maintenance and documentation required
  • Document and track preventative maintenance when performed and allocate expenses to correct locations utilizing PEX Service Desk
  • Document all maintenance activity in PEX Service Desk
  • Visually Inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair
  • Perform monthly walk-though inspections of UST/AST required by EPA and keep required documentation up to date
  • Assist Compliance Committee with record keeping, testing and maintenance required by EPA and Fire Marshal
  • Responsible for coordinating all repairs on fuel dispensers, fuel tanks, and piping and all other store equipment
  • Keep up aesthetic maintenance such as painting bathrooms, walls, entry ways, and bollards. Change bathroom fixtures as needed
  • Perform Fuel Island inspections ensuring washer fluid is full of clean water, pumps have working receipt tape, sanitizers and paper towels are full
  • Power wash and paint all PEX Group Parking
  • Investigate accidents and prepare appropriate reporting
  • Ensures that all required inspections are done on time and submitted to appropriate parties with required records and documentation
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, shampooers, and steam cleaners.
  • Maintenance all needed repairs immediately in stores such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose toilet seats and flush handles, loose tile, broken windowpanes, stained or broken ceiling tiles, etc.
  • Completely strip, wax and recoat hard surface flooring in multiple establishments as needed.
  • Must handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals and comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA and State Health Department, which includes ‘No unmarked bottles of cleaning supplies’ and have all Material Safety Data Sheets available where chemicals are being stored and used.
  • Attend training as requested
  • Must be UST Certified and some knowledge of AST/AST and all equipment associated with operating a convenience store
  • Must perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This job operates in both outdoor and indoor settings. This position may require physical work with farm equipment and materials. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work may vary & on call on weekends as assigned.


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Experience

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take direction and carry out job duties as needed.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning equipment, (vacuum cleaner, buffer, carpet shampooer, steam cleaner, etc.).
  • Must be organized and have a basic understanding of “Housekeeping”.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
  • Walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to follow up and complete job assignments.
  • Work independently or as a team member to complete work assignments satisfactorily.
  • Be flexible in responding to change in schedules and job priorities.
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Observe, record and report unsafe working conditions.
  • Assist other maintenance department personnel in their work duties when requested.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. At least six (6) months experience in a related field.


Education

High School diploma or equivalent, three or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Maintains a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program.
