Job Summary
Performs maintenance duties, including resolving difficult maintenance problems. This position is part of a represented group of staff at the YMCA. While current Union membership is not required, joining the Union will be required upon accepting the position.

Hiring range: $20.00-22.00/hr
Responsibilities:
- Performs general maintenance of building, including painting and general repairs.Resolves difficult maintenance problems. Keeps related records.
- Maintains and repairs fitness equipment.
- Reports and resolves building problems.
- May service and inspect vans, and keep related records.
- May order maintenance and janitorial supplies and equipment.
- May maintain grounds, including mowing and weeding.
- May perform various duties such as cleaning building, and replacing soap, paper towels, light bulbs, and other supplies.
- May set up furniture for special events. May move furniture.
- May provide day to day instructions to volunteers and staff.

One year or more of related experience in general maintenance work.

Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.

Experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and general building systems.

Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions.

Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems.

Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
