Essential Functions:

Learns to receive, store and issue stolen, lost or confiscated property for court and receives and distributes materials, supplies and equipment for the Louisville Metro Police Department

Examples of Duties

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Answers phone calls, provides information, takes messages, and routes calls
Types property room receipts and releases
Learns to receive, process, and place into storage incoming stolen, found, personal, and confiscated property
Learns to operate the computerized property tracking system including basic data entry and retrieval
Learns to process the forms associated with the placing of property into the property room
Learns when and how to notify the lawful owners of property of that properties release
Learns to check received stock against purchasing orders for accuracy
Learns to break down and distribute materials or equipment to appropriate Division units
Learns to fill out requisition orders from various Division units
Maintains clean and orderly storerooms and storage areas
Participates in a daily or annual inventory
Delivers supplies or equipment
Lifts, loads, and unloads materials, supplies and equipment
Performs related work

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent
One year of clerical, stockroom or inventory maintenance experience

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must type accurately at 20 wpm
Must be of good moral character, with no criminal or felony record inconsistent with the provisions of this paragraph. Unacceptable will be persons who have been convicted of a felony, or who have any criminal action pending against them
Applicants who have bought, sold, or used marijuana within one year of application, or have bought, sold or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified
Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis. An applicant may be disqualified for multiple misdemeanors, an unacceptable criminal record, or multiple traffic violations.
Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening
Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test
Must be vaccinated for hepatitis B, have provided evidence of immunity, or have signed a declination form within ten days of initial assignment
Must successfully complete a psychological examination

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
Lifts items overhead weighing up to 40 pounds

Note: All clerks are assigned set hours with rotating off days. Currently clerks are required to work one weekend out of every three.

Test Weights:
Typing: 20 WPM (Pass/Fail)
Computerized Clerical: 50%
Training & Experience: 50%
