Located in Lakeland, Florida, we specialize in machining, welding, and fabrication. Our products include, but are not limited to, unfired pressure vessels from 15 to 3000 psi, boilers, power, process and transportation piping and piping systems, horizontal and vertical underground and above-ground storage tanks, columns, modular skids, structural components, and other custom fabrications.
Robinson Machine Company seeks an energetic Machinist. In this role, you will perform machining and measuring operations that are within the scope of operations for all the available equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Review project assignment/instructions from Team Leader
- Review drawings and machining requirements for job
- Obtain understanding of task and develop action plan
- Set up machine and other required equipment
- Supervise machines and make any adjustments to produce better results
- Ensure work meets quality standards
- Assist Machinist 2 to improve his/her knowledge and skill levels
- Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes
- Practice safety in all aspects of job
- Look for safety issues with equipment and processes
- Participate in safety improvement programs
- Participate in tier meetings
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- A combination of training and strong machining experience
- High School Diploma or GED. Degree is a plus.
- Read and understand Robinson detail drawings, blueprints, machining procedures, and shop travelers.
