MBS Solutions has the immediate need of a Material Handler-Loader Operator on 3RD Shift, in the York, PA Area.


JOB TITLE -
Truck Loader | Material Handler

INDUSTRY - Aluminum Manufacturing

PAY RATE - $18/hr
**Shift Differential not included**

LOCATION:
York/ North York, PA Area.

SHIFT:

  • 3rd shift- 11PM-7AM | Sunday-Thursday

**Potential for OT on Friday's, as required. **.

3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS SEEKING:

  • Mechanical aptitude, Manufacturing and or Industrial based background; Forklift/ Warehousing Equipment Operating and Material Handling Experience.
  • Seeking candidates with high school diploma or equivalent, reliable transportation, and eagerness/ support of co-workers.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Loader in the Fabrication department will be responsible for but not limited to these duties- Loads and moves materials within or near plant. Drives liquefied gas-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move baskets and pallets by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to the following)-

  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Responsible for moving, loosening, and tightening ratchet straps on the beds of trailers.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit for moving; Loosening, and tightening ratchet straps on the beds of trailers.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Load Trucks, drives forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties:
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, extrusions, and transports loads to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device;
  • Empties trash containers as needed; Places empty baskets on wheels for saw crews; Empties scrap hoppers.
  • Ensures forklift is maintained in a safe working order.
  • Reports defects or problems to Shift Foreman.
  • Completes preventive maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed;
  • Replaces propane bottle refueling forklift as required.
  • Places empty bottle in proper storage area;
  • Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, ensuring aisle ways are kept clear;
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, baskets of product, or materials and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair.
  • Assists with general housekeeping of the Fabrication Department and or as directed in other areas.
  • Performs inspection and maintains quality standards.
  • Completes any other necessary paperwork or documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other: Must possess a valid Forklift Operator's license and have prior forklift experience. Must be able to operate Yard Dog for moving trailers (Manual Transmission), Combi lift, and Sit-down forklift


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The employee is required to work a scheduled 8-hour shift
  • The employee will be regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee will frequently lift and or move up to 50lbs; and occasionally lift and or move up to 75lbs.
  • The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
