Polsinelliis hiring a Paralegal to support its Consumer Finance Litigation Group in the firm’s Miami or New York office. Candidates must be extremely organized, team-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work independently and as part of a team in addition to taking ownership of assigned office responsibilities. Candidates should be proactive and able to anticipate, analyze, and resolve issues under pressure, and have at least 5+ years of previous law firm experience as a paralegal and/or legal assistant. The position requires a minimum of 1600 billable hours annually in addition to administrative responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

· Draft and revise legal documents and forms under attorney supervision and other documents

· Analyze and summarize discovery requests, prepare for productions, and maintain production logs

· Coordinate hearing dates with parties, court administrative staff, and judges

· Extensive client contact, including, but not limited to status updates and reporting.

· E-file with Federal and State courts nationwide

· Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial

· E-record property records and coordinate foreclosure sales

· Maintain various tracking systems internally and client-specific systems

· Handle initial intake of matters, including, but not limited to, internal reporting, budgets, etc.

· Maintain current knowledge of consumer finance and litigation as it relates to the financial services practice

· Set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects

· Pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, in addition to looking for alternative options/solutions to better serve attorneys and clients

· Remain current on specific legal guidelines for the practice area

· Communicate professionally (verbal and written) with attorneys, co-workers, clients, any outside companies and vendors

· Strong team player; willing to assist others with a positive attitude

· Other duties as assigned

Administrative Tasks:

· Maintain practice group case list/deadlines in a spreadsheet

· Onboard new matters into client-specific databases

· Process annual Attorney Due Diligence Questionnaires

· Provide a summary of monthly billings for group timekeepers

· Train new staff and attorneys on practice group protocols

· Maintain practice group policies and procedures

· Assist with file transfers to/from law firms

· Coordinate monthly practice group calls

· Assist with monthly update reporting for clients through spreadsheets and reporting platforms
