Marcum is currently seeking a Litigation and Forensics Supervisor for our Tampa Office. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and interested to grow and expand their skills, our litigation practice, and their career. Responsibilities:
As a Supervisor, you will start to own and manage your engagements to ensure the end product will support thorough and grounded expert opinions and/or provide quality consulting services to attorneys and their clients within established time frames.
- Responsibility to supervise, pass down knowledge and work with your team to complete the following:
- Quantify and support damages and/or lost profit calculations in a litigation setting
- Create financial models, cash flow analyses, complete business related valuations, and other analyses as dictated by the needs of the client, company or transaction.
- Supervise the assembly, maintenance, and finalization of working papers that support expert reports and deliverables
- Identify and quantify financial fraud and related remediation
- Creation of internal and external communications, including client proposals and expert reports
- Prepare financial analysis to provide guidance to attorneys on key financial and business issues
- Perform/oversee complex accounting or other research required for clients across a diverse range of industries
- Participate in economic damages cases, commercial disputes, fraud investigations and restructuring matters
- Serve as consultant to attorneys, assist in preparing questions for discovery and deposition of potential witnesses, assist in reviewing and refuting the testimony and analysis of other expert witnesses, design court exhibits, and participate in depositions and court as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master’s degree a plus
- CPA required
- 5-6 years of experience working for a public accounting / consulting firm in a Litigation/Forensics practice focused on commercial clients
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance principles, GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Proven mathematical, analytical, research, and quantitative skills
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills
- Demonstrated ability to make professional presentations, which includes possessing superior verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills with MS Excel and MS Access; exposure to QuickBooks and Relativity software is a plus
- Willingness to participate in marketing and networking events of the firm and practice group; leadership will provide guidance and training in this area
