With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. There are more than 200 clubs in Rossmoor for every interest.GRF’s approximately 250 full-time, part-time and part-time/on-call employees provide a huge variety of services including maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, golf course maintenance, recreation, lifeguarding, fitness training, vehicle repair, accounting, insurance and purchasing.

Centrally located in the heart of Contra Costa County, Rossmoor provides its own bus service including a connection to Walnut Creek’s BART station.

Lifeguard Positions Available

The Golden Rain Foundation is recruiting lifeguards to work at our 3 beautiful pool complexes located in the gated residential community of Rossmoor Walnut Creek.

These are year-round positions, with full-time (32/hrs week),and part-time (20-31 hrs week), flexible schedules available with early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts open. FT Senior Lifeguard, FT/PT and Part-time On-call (up to 19 hrs/wk) positions available.

NOT CERTIFIED? WE OFFER TRAINING IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE RED CROSS LIFEGUARD AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATION!!

General Duties, Responsibilities, Qualifications:

FT Senior Lifeguard:

• Minimum age 18+
• have current American Red Cross lifeguard, CPR/AED certifications;
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as lifeguard team lead
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as lifeguard
• Supervise lifeguards, residents & guests in pool area;
• Enforce applicable regulations, policies and procedures in and around pool areas;
• Perform and/or oversee performance of required chemical checks, pool deck and equipment care including aquatic equipment, deck chairs & tables, etc.;
• Escalation point for resident issues; ensure incident reports are complete, accurate & timely;
• Accepts responsibility for lifeguard team needs (e.g., training, scheduling), assignments and tasks as required falling within purview of Head Lifeguard and Sr Manager of Resident Services.

FT/PT/PTOC Lifeguard:

• enforces water safety rules;
• have strong swimming skills;
• have good communications skills;
• provides lifeguard protection by observing the pool at all times;
• conducts operational checks of pools, including chemical checks every two hours, cleaning skimmers, regularly scheduled pool cleaning;
• is responsible for proper care of pool equipment and furnishings;
• have current American Red Cross lifeguard certification OR be able to become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard within one (1) month of starting work (certification training provided)
• be a true team player and have the ability to interact appropriately with senior residents, visitors, and guests.

Additional Requirements All Positions:

· Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment;

· Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required.

· Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment background check, Hepatitis B screen, drug test and physical capabilities assessment.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
