YOUR DAILY LIFE AS A LIFE SKILLS TRAINER - JOB COACH
As a new Life Skills Trainer - Job Coach, you prioritize building trust and rapport with participants while delivering effective life skills, wellness, and employer-based training. Additionally, you conduct monthly professional development training for staff on important topics like HIPPA, work habits, professional boundaries, and using SharePoint.
You coordinate with vocational evaluation and employment services staff to design a curriculum that meets participant training needs. You prepare course materials including handouts, workbooks, web-based resources, and other necessary training tools. You also assign daily homework and track participant progress in detailed case notes.
You are committed to ensuring the success of participants and work diligently to contact those who miss appointments to reschedule. Collaborating with placement specialists, you organize hiring fairs, industry panels, and practice interview sessions with employers in the area.
Your commitment to the success of program participants and your embodiment of the nonprofit's values make you an exceptional representative for both participants and community stakeholders. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To be successful as a Life Skills Trainer - Job Coach at Families Forward, you should have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience, as well as at least three years of experience working with individuals seeking opportunities for employment. You should be highly organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
