We are seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our already fantastic team. The perfect candidate will have 3+ years of experience, a zest for continuing education, leadership skills, a thrill for teaching others, a passion for animal care, and a desire to build relationships with our clients. There is potential to become inventory manager which is not just your average weekly bottle shaker! This is a very challenging position that collaborates with the practice owner and manager weekly. Our practice is located in the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach, SC, which means you will be surrounded by blue skies, sunshine, white sandy beaches, and the ocean!

Practice Overview

River Oaks Animal Hospital is a privately-owned small animal practice that opened in 2014. We believe in delivering WOW through our customer service, which means we put an emphasis on making a difference with each interaction we have in the hopes of changing one person’s day for the better. Leading with a servant’s heart is at the core of everything we do, so we focus on creating a positive experience for all of our staff and clients. When it comes to the care we provide, we can do it all. We are equipped to handle anything that comes our way from a regular health check-up to emergency services too. We do all of this while making sure to have a lot of fun too!

What You’ll Be Working On

Engaging and communicating with clients in a professional, friendly demeanor

Getting and maintaining patient medical history information

Follow Fear Free Procedures to safely handle and restrain animals

Monitor and record observations of all patients and report observations to doctors

Perform nursing care for patients such as ear cleaning, basic bandage, medical baths and more

Assist the doctor with patient treatments, procedures and activities

Administer anesthesia or sedatives to control pain under direction of a veterinarian

Obtain quality samples for diagnostic testing

Prepare and capture diagnostic radiographs

Perform x-ray and laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment

Perform surgery room and equipment preparations as well as post-operation sterilization and cleaning

Perform dental procedures including appropriate medical documentation and reporting to the doctor

Potential for inventory management.

Potential for clinical team leadership with an emphasis on continuing education and quality control.

Qualifications

At least 3-year experience as a Veterinary Technician required.

Ability to work some treatment weekends.

Highly motivated, with a passion for animals and providing great customer service

Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and objectives

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation depends on your experience.
