Licensed Clinical Therapist Job Description
(LMFT or LCSW)

Job Scope
The LMFT or LCSW manages a fulltime or parttime caseload (Predetermined between ED and clinician beforehand) and provides direct individual and/or group services in a hybrid model including on campus service and telehealth services.

General Responsibilities:
1) Under the direction of the ED, the LMFT or LCSW works to fulfill the organization’s mission by

  • Follow the regulatory and professional operations as defined by the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) and the TWCC Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Promotes a professional, safe, and compassionate work environment.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the ED to problem solve issues that arise.

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree completed from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, social work, or a mental health discipline is required.

Experience Required

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certificate or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certificate.

Job Responsibilities
1. Maintain a caseload of at least 15 but no more than 30 weekly clients.
2. Work with ED to market your counseling services in order to increase your caseload as needed.
3. Implement the HIPPA compliant electronic medical record (EMR) software program to consistently maintain all clinician and client records.
4. Responsible for triaging clients, scheduling appointments, conducting screenings, conducting assessments and analysis.
5. Diagnose and develop treatment plans that address the needs of assigned clients.
6. Attend and engage in monthly staff meetings
7. Report any harassment complaints to the Executive Director.
8. Contribute to the overall success of TWCC by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the ED.

  • Remain in Good Standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Complete education units in compliance with the Board of Behavioral Sciences licensing requirements.
  • Keep up all licenses required by the State of California
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while providing direct therapy services to caseload.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards and practices.
  • Model and promote a productive and cooperative atmosphere: show commitment to agency goals and objectives.
  • Speak clearly and concisely. Listen carefully and seek clarification when needed.
  • Write clearly and informatively.
  • Proactively seek solutions regarding problem solving. Gather and analyze information systematically; think analytically and act decisively.
  • Respond with sensitivity to people of diverse perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, lifestyles, and ages. Foster open communication and respect for the individual.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret all agency forms.
  • Ability to complete all company reports and forms clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to define problems, troubleshoot solutions, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate with the ED.

Work Locations and Physical Demands of Job:

  • The work location will be predetermined by the clinician and ED.
  • Clients will be seen on site 100% of the time or on a hybrid model.
  • While preforming the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands and fingers; talk and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Pay: $48,762.00 - $97,524.00 per year
