POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Behavioral Health Professional will be responsible for providing crisis response, stabilization, intervention, and counseling to individuals experiencing a mental health or chemical dependency crisis and/or who have been diagnosed with SUD (Substance Use Disorder), AUD(Alcohol Use Disorder), OUD(Opioid Use Disorder), and/or COD (Co-Occurring Disorder) for the Comanche Nation 988 Tribal Response Project. This Program is funded by a grant through SAMHSA; all project staff will be responsible for strict adherence to all federal funding requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide crisis intervention to individuals experiencing a mental health or chemical dependency crisis through tele-health, telephone, and/or in-person visits.
- Provide assessments, counseling, crisis management, and collaborative crisis planning for solution-focused outcomes and referrals for follow-up services and treatments.
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to program participants.
- Provide information regarding mental health awareness, prevention, and treatment to the local community.
- Provide training to staff as related to program services and treatment components.
- Provide training to program staff and within the community on trauma-informed care and approaches.
- Develop and sustain collaborative community partnerships with other mental health service agencies/providers.
- Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment for program participants, families, staff.
- Develop and implement culturally responsive training materials and training sessions on the mental health crisis situations and crisis management.
- Responsible for counseling participants and families in associates with the program and service offered; and make referral when appropriates and necessary.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for program participants, staff, and community members.
- Responsible for establishing the proper data collection systems and encoding of data for reporting requirements to funding agencies and to the Comanche Business Committee.
- Maintain confidential filing system in accordance with Comanche Nation record keeping policies and funding agency policies.
- Will be required to work collaboratively will all other Prevention and Recovery programs and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Will report to the Prevention and Recovery Outpatient Treatment Center Site Supervisor. This position does not hold any supervisory authority.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Vision and hearing in the normal range, with or without correction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of work will be performed in the Out patient Treatment Center office setting with some field work to include responding to crisis situations and occasional outreach activities and community events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field and MUST be a practitioner with a license to practice in the state of Oklahoma issued by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist, Behavioral Practitioner, or Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LBF, LADC, LADC/MH).
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
- Preference will be given to Comanche Tribal members.
- Experience in providing trauma-informed care.
- Will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR training (employer will provide training).
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable under the Comanche Nation's Motor Vehicle policy.
- Must be willing to submit to, and pass, drug testing; employment will be contingent upon successful completion.
- Must be willing to a background check; employment will be contingent upon successful completion.

VACCINE MANDATE: Per CBC Resolution 150-2021 Effective January 4, 2022 employees must be fully vaccinated by receiving one (1) dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two(2) doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Religious and Medical exemptions may be requested and will be reviewed for determination.
