Learning and Development Manager
Job description
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for identifying learning and development needs for various ministerial, administrative, and temporal positions throughout the Diocese of Toledo. Primarily utilizing Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Franciscan at Home Catechetical Institute (FHI), the Learning and Development Manager creates and deploys training content to diocesan, parish, and school staff and volunteers. The Learning and Development Manager serves as the main contact for the Diocese of Toledo’s use of the FHI platform, including performing administrative tasks and responding to user questions and requests. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
This is a new position, funded by the generous donations to the Living Christ Campaign, and a Diocesan Strategic Plan priority to enhance the lay leadership capabilities for service in the Church through education, training, and skill development.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Identify training and developmental needs by analyzing job requirements, operational opportunities, and current training programs.
· Collaborate with Senior Directors, Strategic Plan Pillar teams, Pastoral Center departments, Director of Human Resources, and other stakeholders to develop and support training programs, including in-person and online training, that align with Catholic Church teaching.
· Serve as primary liaison with Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Franciscan at Home Catechetical Institute (FHI). Develop and implement plan to promote use of FHI platform, with attention paid to growing stakeholder participation and engagement.
· Manage all tasks related to diocesan use of the FHI platform, including communicating with the FHI, managing technical processes for users and compiling reports and data.
· Create customized training content to place on the FHI platform for deployment to diocesan and parish/school leadership and staff.
· Develop mentorship programs to support training tracks which could be enhanced by utilization of mentors. Assist with identifying, training, and supporting mentors.
Candidates for the position must possess:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Communications, Education, or a field closely related to the major duties and responsibilities of this position.
· At least three (3) years’ experience in designing and implementing employee learning and development programs, with knowledge of instructional design methodologies, performance management, needs analyses, and adult learning techniques.
· Computer expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office products. Experience with multimedia training platforms, filming and editing video content is preferred.
· Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
