In the Operations division at Edward Jones, you’ll focus on creating the ideal client and branch experience while reducing risk and increasing efficiencies for the work done in support of our clients. From account opening, to trade settlement and movement of client cash and securities, to statement production and tax reporting, Operations is involved every step of the way. Your work will support all client transactions and processing through the life cycle of the client relationship.
The Leadership Development Program is designed to accelerate the development of leaders in Financial Services. Candidates will go through six-month rotations within our Operations division for a period of up to 3 years. Qualified candidates will ultimately be responsible for developing people, processes and systems that enhance the experience of the individual investor and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

- Specific areas of responsibility may include: 1) oversight and control of brokerage transactions, and 2) electronic money or asset movement, reconciliation, tax reporting, etc.
- Prior leadership training and/or financial service experience is preferred as the program will further develop and strengthen leaders' skills by providing "hands-on" opportunities to deliver results, develop people, think strategically, and gain technical experience relevant in financial services.
- Challenging business objectives, independent leadership assessments, candid feedback and mentoring from senior leaders are combined to provide participants with broad and valuable experiences in a relatively short period of time.
- Building the talent of a diverse team of 5-15 associates.
- Responsible for the overall performance of the team including establishing and achieving key performance indicators, key goals and objectives, risk mitigation, and compliance with supervisory procedures and regulations.
- Decisions are non-routine and require the exercise of sound judgment.
- Responsible for working with other areas and individuals in the Operations division to deliver meaningful results and champion innovation
- Must utilize technology and tools available to identify and implement solutions and create process efficiencies for rotation team and/or department.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with internal and external partners.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 2 years professional experience required
- Demonstrated leadership ability, preferred prior direct leadership experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt and champion change
- Ability to motivate others towards a common goal
- Sound decision making skills as decisions are non-routine and require the exercise of good judgment as risks include financial, tax, legal, regulatory and client service.
- SIE and Series 99 required within 120 calendar days of start date. Series 7 required within 12 months of start date. Full time study provided, and Series 7 usually acquired within 5 months of start date.
