General Summary: The Lead Travel Escort supervises the Travel Escort and ensures the proper supervision of children by travel escorts during transportation. They ensure direct line of site supervision of children during transportation for medical appointments, facility transfers and national travel at an on-site childrens residential facility.

All services shall be provided in accordance with federal and state standards as well as the established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which SOG International is recognized.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions

• Assists in the logistical coordination of transitioning and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another, including during domestic flights.

• Keeps regular communication with the travel chaperone/escort and provide periodic report to supervisor during transportation.

• Ensure that all Travel Chaperones/Escorts provide documentation of all duties performed while on shift.

• Complete all required documentation pertaining to this position in a timely manner, which may include daily reports, shift briefings, and management updates.

• Responsible for adhering to all SOG, SG, ORR, & other applicable regulations.

• Reviewing and approving employees timesheets at the end of the pay period.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent

• Associates degree highly preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write and speak.

• Pass pre-employment background check such as but not limited to Abuse and Neglect (CAN)/Child Protective Services and criminal background checks.

• At least 21 years of age or older

• Able to navigate an airport environment, coordinate with airline customer services if required and familiar with TSA screening requirements.

• Valid driver license and clean driving record.

• Proficiency with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office products.

• Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations (Emergency Task Order oir Cooperative Agreement)

• Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany residents possibly to a different city for several days at a time.

• Must be able to multi-task, be detailed-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills

• Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.

• Must be able to perform emergency behavioral intervention (EBI) for UAC in care (as applicable per contract and/or cooperative agreements).

Experience:

• At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience

• Minimum of 1-year experience working with UAC population

• Minimum of 1-year operations experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to ascend/descend stairs.

• Ability to lift 15 lbs.

• Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, extreme heat and winds).

• Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.

• Must be able to supervise clients indoors and outdoors throughout the entire duration of their shift period, which lasts 8 hours or more on a typical shift.

• Must be able to stand, bend, or stoop for the entire duration of the shift, as necessary.

• Must be prepared and physically able to respond with appropriate protocol in a variety of dynamic supervision situations with clients of 0-17 years in age.

• In a sudden or emergency event, staff must at all times be physically able to run, jump, lunge, twist, push, pull, apply approved restraint techniques and otherwise manage or coerce the full weight of an infant or adolescent.

• Ability to pass a medical examination to determine ones fitness to satisfactorily and safely care for youth if accommodations are required.

• Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities.
