Lead Endoscopic Technician (ERCP)

- Work location: Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Dallas, TX
- Work hours: Full Time, 40 Hours, Monday – Friday, 8 Hour Days (8:00am-4:30pm); Call requirement varies to meet the needs of the department which includes weekend coverage.
- Work environment: Endoscopy/GI Lab Department is a believer in work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
What you need:
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 4 years GI clinical experience including with one-year ERCP experience required
- CNA – Certified Nurse Aide OR
- MA – Medical Assistant OR
- EMT – Emergency Medical Technician preferred AND
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
What you will do:
Collects Team Lead Responsibilities
a. Trains/onboards new technicians and oversee ongoing competencies
b. Coordinates daily and on-call schedule for technicians
c. Manages block schedule and utilization. Prepares and reviews utilization reports.
d. Orders supplies
e. Manages scope inventory and repairs
f. Works with vendors regarding support and education
Care of Patient/Technical Skills
a. Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
b. Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
c. Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
d. Documents accurately and appropriately.
e. Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
f. In collaboration/consultation with nurse, adapts care to reflect age-specific and developmental considerations.
g. In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, incorporates cultural/ religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care
h. Supports and meets regulatory requirements. 20%
Professional Accountability
a. Maintains and enhances patient care skills.
b. Seeks assistance and supervision when performing unfamiliar tasks.
c. Serves as a patient advocate.
d. Complies with personnel policies i.e. Attendance, ID badge, Dress Code, etc.
e. Communicates per department expectations.
f. Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.
g. Identifies realistic and measurable annual goals for ongoing skill development. 20%
Partnership
a. Uses appropriate communication structure.
b. Acceptable use of interpersonal relationship skills with patients, families, co- workers, physicians, and other customers.
c. Adapts to changing needs of unit, re: patient census, workload, and crisis situations.
d. Functions as preceptor in the training and evaluation of practice partners (if selected by Manager).
e. Flexible with scheduling to help meet departmental/patient needs. 20%
Continuous Improvement
a. Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve them.
b. Participates in unit-based programs to monitor and continuously improve the quality of patient care.
c. Utilizes evidence-based practice. 15%
