We are a newly established preschool in Acworth, GA and are hiring early childhood education assistant teachers for a variety of shifts! Applicants must love teaching young children and be committed to fostering an environment of learning and fun. JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: TEACHER
Definition: The Teacher is responsible for providing a quality program for children. Responsibilities include the care, education, and supervision of assigned children.
Accountability: Reports to the Director and Assistant Director.
Minimum Professional Qualifications:
1. One-three years teaching experience in early childhood education and high school diploma or
GED
OR high school diploma and an associate degree in an early childhood program.
2. Demonstrates understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice.
3. Meets all requirements of licensing and regulatory agencies.
4. Accepts and believes in the philosophy and mission of the school.
5. Displays positive interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
6. Possesses valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record for the purpose of transporting children.
7. Meets the minimum age requirement of 18 years of age.
8. Meets all the requirements as described in the section title Essential Functions of all Employees.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain a positive reputation and image within the community while creating and promoting a positive professional relationship with the Director, Assistant Director, Owners, staff, and families.
2. Promote and maintain maximum enrollment in the classroom.
3. Plan activities to meet the needs of individual children; activities which are designed to ensure success, based on a positive foundation for growth and development.
4. Plan, supervise, and implement programs for children in accordance with the Legacy Academy’s policies and procedures.
5. Assume responsibility for daily maintenance of equipment, classroom, children’s restrooms, and playground.
6. Provide a model classroom environment by incorporating best practices.
7. Mentor and support co-teachers.
8. Participate in regularly scheduled and informal conferences with parents.
9. Provide transportation for children on school vehicles.
10 Demonstrate leadership to the teaching staff.
11. Participate in regular and ongoing child care training.
12. Support and contribute to the NAEYC accreditation process.
13. Any and all other duties as assigned by the Director or the Assistant Director.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
