The Lead Medical Assistant (LMA) with Altos Health is a resource to our team of MA's and providing back-up support when needed. You will help ensure efficient patient flow and quality care during clinic hours by providing guidance and leading by example. You'll provide support to the physicians and staff for all patient-related medical activities and administrative tasks. You will also coordinate MA activities. This is a Contract role and will reports to the Medical Director.

What You'll Do

  • Greet patients onsite out of our San Jose and Mountain View offices in a service-oriented manner in compliance with practice protocols and workflows
  • Resolve problems promptly; serving as the key resource for us in the development of a team approach to patient care services and clinic flow
  • Handle patient complaints regarding clinic flow and medical assistants
  • Work on quality improvement projects related to the Company, participate in medical department and staff meetings, and work with other administrative personnel
  • Oversee inventory and supply ordering, temperature logs, equipment upkeep, Cal OSHA and all other compliancy required in a clinical setting
  • Train new team members
  • Maintain infection control and safety requirements, office policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform all tasks under the direction of a clinician and work within the scope of practice

About You

  • years requires basic clinical and practical experience as typically acquired in a similar environment
  • 2+ years of experience with insurance eligibility, copays, deductibles and prior authorizations.
  • 2+ years of EMR experience (DrChrono/ Epic)
  • Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California. Equivalent experience is accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • General knowledge of different medical procedures, views, and equipment
