Ryan Companies US, Inc. is proud to recognize that our Twin Cities Real Estate Management and Maintenance team is continually expanding our services in the Minneapolis area. We are excited to announce that we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Lead Building Engineer to take the reins of a class A office building in the Central Business District of Minneapolis!

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Understand and operate all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety systems – specifically district steam and chilled water systems
  • Understand and operate building automations and energy management systems
  • Help coordinate and manage building certifications such as Energy Star and WELL
  • Manage construction build outs and warranty periods
  • Manage and coordinate vendors
  • Provide supervision of supporting staff
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems.
  • Respond to tenant requests and needs with concierge level service.
  • Process work orders, general repairs, and adjustments to building systems, equipment, and fixtures

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent verbal communication skills and a helpful can-do attitude when interacting with building occupants and team members. Must have a 2-year vocational degree in building operations, HVAC or other commercial building training. You must have at least 5 years of building maintenance experience in a commercial office environment. You will need to have a clear driving record, basic knowledge of computer applications, and the physical ability to work from ladders, work overhead and lift 100 lbs. You must also be able to recognize the smell of smoke and other chemicals, identify unfamiliar or concerning situations and be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.

You will really stand out if you have:

  • An HVAC technical degree
  • Electrical, plumbing and building automation controls experience
  • More than 5 years of experience leading the maintenance of a Class A office building
